From the first moment every Educational Administration, as a partner, have seen the necessity to involve people from their respective Primary and Secondary schools in the task of the project, in order to have a complete view of all the internal evaluation processes. For this reason we started to work in a network of schools in every country.

We think that as Educational Administrations only if we take in consideration the school perspective really we could help them to improve their quality and in consequence to improve the quality of whole Educational System in every country.

As consequence of the work done we realised the necessity to develop a new Comenius project at the level of schools in order to continue the work and improve the possibilities to have exchange experiences involving directly all the schools. To make it possible we have organised for 30th,31st January 1st, 2nd, and 3rd February three parallel meetings in Brussels: EA partners, Secondary schools and Primary schools from Norway, Belgium, Scotland, Portugal and Catalonia.

The aim of EA partners meeting is to continue the workplan activities as we have specified previously. The objective of Primary and Secondary school meetings is to work directly together to put the bases for future collaborations applying for a project Comenius1 in order to continue exchanges of experiences and materials between them and with their respective Educational Administration.

SUMMARY:

  • The principal aim of the project is to promote the need for internal evaluation in order to enhance educational quality in the schools.

  • European educational needs and the strategies taken into practice to solve them will be spread and known. Knowing the situation of the internal evaluation process in each country and the strategies they have to put it into practice, allows to design instruments and actuation strategies to improve the educational quality in the different educational communities.

  • Likewise, co-operating and sharing tools in the design and evaluation of materials imply an enrichment that will be able to be extended not only to the centres directly involved in the project but also to the ones which will be involved through the network.

The project aims:

  • Sensitising educational community about the need of internal evaluation.

  • All the community fields - pupils, teachers and parents - will be suggested to get involve in internal evaluation.

  • Analysis about how and when the students have to join in the process of promoting self evaluation.

  • Knowing which is the internal evaluation process in each country: how it works, which tools and instruments are put into practice, …

  • Sharing information and analysis between this project and the one (Contract nº:87306-CP-1-2000-1-ES-COMENIUS-C31) which the educational authorities of our countries are developing together.

  • Improvement, through the internal evaluation , of educational practice and the students' achievements. Increasing the educational quality in the participants' schools and, also, in the ones which get involved in the project through the established network and the spreading of the outcomes and the end product.
